In a nutshell, my volunteering journey with Skillseed has been exactly what its mission holds. It enabled me to bring my passion, potential and sense of purpose to solve real challenges. I have always been an advocate of experiential learning as I feel that true learning comes by adopting a multi-disciplinary approach, developing hands-on skills and impacting both the mind and heart. When I first came to know about Skillseed, I was fascinated by its vision, purpose and programmes which resonated with my personal values, beliefs and goals. I am an experienced social development professional, enthusiastic to build a stronghold on the issues and solutions in the development space. In Skillseed, I found a partnership brimming with knowledge, creativity, passion for social impact, collaboration and sustainable change. Their energy and wisdom stimulated me to think out of the box, conduct deep research and focus on quality.
The portfolio designed for me was well thought through, keeping my experience, skills and interest in mind. I am happy that I could provide thought leadership in the areas of Social Innovation, Community Engagement and ESG that would benefit the readers in understanding these relevant, multi-dimensional topics. It was gratifying to deliberate for Skillseed’s current and future programmes in the area of corporate partnerships and ESG offerings. It required careful thinking, lots of research and coming up with appropriate insights but I felt appreciated, valued and found meaning in the work. It was a mutually beneficial learning journey to research on these areas and I gained new and interesting perspectives. With the groundwork ready, I would love to see the new programmes take shape and grow.
Social sector is challenging and ever evolving. In this new world, Skillseed’s skills-based, hands-on learning approach for developing resilient and adaptable changemakers is the need of the hour. I have been fortunate to have been associated with such a creative, future focused organisation and feel a sense of belonging with the Skillseed family.
